On the first two open days of dove season, a permit is needed to hunt on posted areas.
Hunting from Disabled Sportsmen blinds on the Catfish Lake waterfowl impoundment is by permit only.

Access2 items

Croatan Forest Order 08-11-03-26-01 closes the Neusiok Trail from Pinecliff Recreation Area Trailhead to the posted Pinecliff Equestrian Trail detour; Fishers Landing, Pinecliff and Siddie Fields recreation areas; and the Flanners Beach picnic area and campground. It also prohibits being on FSR 132 at mile 0.67, FSR 141 and FSR 167, including 50 feet in each direction from each road centerline. The order runs until May 1, 2029 or earlier rescission and retains its explicit special-use permit/contract and official-duty exceptions. These are named subarea closures, not a whole-Croatan hunting closure.
Siddie Fields Day Use Area is also closed for storm-repair and improvement construction; members of the public should avoid the area while active construction is underway. No reopening date is given in the September 28, 2026 alert.
